Ashley Holtsclaw earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from West Virginia State University and Master of Arts in Counseling from Marshall University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of West Virginia, National Certified Counselor, Board Certified Tele Mental Health Provider, and has two certifications through Evergreen Certification in the areas of, Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.
She works with individuals struggling with anxiety disorders, addictive behaviors, depression, relationship distress, post traumatic stress disorder among other areas they are struggling with to help them overcome barriers to progress toward life growth. She uses a Solution-Focused approach to help people work towards their goals as a way to make impacting change, look at old beliefs that are no longer serving them in present time, and work towards shifting their lens to adopt new healthy thought patterns as a way to enhance behavioral growth.
She is most passionate about working with children and families to help them learn ways to identify feelings, recognize behaviors, label emotions, and teach them how to adopt new healthy behaviors to enhance their behavioral outcomes for school and at home.
She also enjoys the challenging complexity of providing couples counseling to partners wanting to improve communication, address relationship issues or difficulties, and who are wanting to experience new or renewed stages of life with one another.
In her free time she loves spending time with friends and family outdoors, working on passionate projects and enjoying the simple things in life.
Ashley is currently accepting EAP patients as well.
